Financial Aid Counselor - Office of Financial Aid

Mississippi College is seeking qualified applicants for a Financial Aid Counselor, Office of Financial Aid. Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Counselor serves as a primary point of contact for students and families navigating the financial aid process. This role involves evaluating student eligibility, packaging aid, resolving issues, and providing financial literacy education. The counselor ensures compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations while maintaining a student-first mindset. A detailed job description is attached.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • 1–2 years of experience in financial aid, higher education, or student services preferred.
  • Knowledge of Title IV regulations and experience with financial aid software systems, specifically Banner, is a plus.
  • Must be in good standing and remain in good standing with personal Title IV loans.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability
