Dr. Cindy Melton is a Professor in the Department of Teacher Education and Leadership. She joined the MC faculty in 2001 after serving as an educator in Clinton Public School District. Dr. Melton has taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses and served in a variety of roles, including Chair for the Mississippi Licensure Commission, MACTE President, AILACTE State Representative, Governor's Task Forces for Special Education, Teacher Preparation, and Early Literacy, and National Advisory Council for AACTE.
She has been recognized as Distinguished Professor of the Year, HEADWAE Faculty Honoree for Mississippi College, Distinguished Alumni, Outstanding Young Professor, Eastside Teacher of the Year, and Metro Jackson Teacher of the Year.
