Michael Pope
Assistant Professor - Teacher Education and Leadership

Michael Pope joined the faculty of the Teacher Education and Leadership Department at Mississippi College in 2025 as an Assistant Professor. His area of expertise is educational leadership, specifically in the Education Specialist degree program. Michael has over 25 years of experience in the field of education. He taught high school World History and Biblical History of the Ancient Middle East for six years and then became a 7th grade principal for six years. He spent his last 13 years as a lead principal of an elementary school. His greatest professional joy is to equip and invest in others so that they can achieve their fullest potential.
Michael enjoys reading books about history and theology, attending concerts, watching science fiction films, and pulling some bass from his pond behind the house. He is married to an elementary school administrator and they have two children. They are members of First Baptist Church Clinton.
