Mrs. Johnston-Nicholas’ joined MC's faculty in 1996. Currently, she teaches Introduction to Social Work, Human Diversity, and Contemporary Social Problems. Her field of expertise is grief and bereavement and human diversity.

Mrs. Johnston-Nicholas is a certified grief recovery specialists and is a facilitator at the McClean Fletcher Center, the only grief center for children in Mississippi. A fun fact about Mrs. Johnston-Nicholas is that she is Brazilian and her first language is Portuguese. She enjoys traveling and a variety of foods.
