Damien J. Thomas currently serves as assistant professor. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Mississippi College in 2002, his Master of Science degree in Psychology & Counseling from Mississippi College in 2006, and his Doctor of Professional Counseling degree from Mississippi College in 2014, specializing in addictions treatment. Dr. Thomas has over 12 years of experience in the mental health and addictions field, working in various settings including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and juvenile justice.
Dr. Thomas has treated various populations including children, adolescents, and adults. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Board Qualified Supervisor (LPC-S), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and an Internationally Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICAADC). He is also an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), Mississippi Counselor Association (MCA), Mississippi Association of Addiction Professionals (MAAP), Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), and Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (SACES).
