Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary President Jeff Iorg

Jeff Iorg, president of Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, will deliver a series of lectures on the Mississippi College campus Nov. 1-2.

The seventh president of the theological graduate school in California, Dr. Iorg earlier served as executive director-treasurer of the Northwest Baptist Convention from 1995 to 2004. He’s taught preaching, evangelism, and leadership at the Pacific Northwest campus of Golden Gate Seminary.

Iorg and his wife, Ann, have three children – Casey, Melody and Caleb. Iorg is the author of two books “The Character of Leadership” and “The Painful Side of Leadership.” He was the founding pastor of Greater Gresham Baptist Church in Oregon. His personal ministry includes outreach to the baseball community in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Iorg’s visit to MC is sponsored by the university’s Institute for Christian Leadership. He’s visiting the Clinton campus to deliver the Spell Lectures named after Dr. Howard E. Spell, a former Bible professor and academic vice president at Mississippi College.

At 7 p.m. Monday, Iorg will speak for about 50 minutes to students in Anderson Hall East in the B.C. Rogers Student Center with a reception to follow. He will address students and others in the MC community on Tuesday Nov. 2 at chapel services at First Baptist Church, Clinton at 10:50 a.m. until 11:40 a.m. After a lunch break, Iorg will speak to MC faculty and other guests from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. in the B.C. Rogers Student Center.
