Leanne Morgan to headline MC Foundation’s Celebration Gala on Sept. 18

Actress, comedian and best-selling author Leanne Morgan will headline the Mississippi College Foundation’s Celebration Gala set for Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025, in the A.E. Wood Coliseum on MC’s Clinton campus. Proceeds from MC’s Celebration Gala, the single largest annual fundraising event at the Christian University, benefit student scholarships and MC Athletics.

Morgan rose to prominence with her debut Netflix special, “I’m Every Woman,” showcasing her relatable humor and Southern charm. With a career spanning 25 years, she has built a devoted following that continues to grow. Her ability to find humor in the mundane has endeared her to fans around the globe.

Recognized as one of Variety’s Top 10 Comics to Watch for 2023, Morgan continues to expand her horizons, recently appearing alongside Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon in the Amazon Prime feature, “You’re Cordially Invited,” which debuted at No. 1 on the platform.

The evening event will feature a seated dinner for table sponsors, a Q&A-style conversation with Morgan, and a program filled with laughter and special moments.

Prior to the conversation with Morgan, guests will be entertained by MC students, alumni and friends.

Katrina Pace, chief executive officer of the MC Foundation, calls the gala “transformative.”

“This event is poised to become the largest fundraising celebration in Mississippi College’s history—an extraordinary moment during a truly historic year as we mark the beginning of the 200th session of the University in Fall 2025. It is only fitting that we commemorate this milestone with a signature event of this magnitude.

“Every dollar raised will directly support MC scholarships and athletics, helping us expand opportunities and elevate the student experience for generations to come. This is a night you won’t want to miss.”

In addition to experiencing a night with Morgan, attendees will enjoy demonstrations from talented MC students and faculty, hear MC student stories, and most of all, support a worthy cause.

“Many generous businesses and individuals support our events each year,” Pace said. “This year, to reduce overhead expenses associated with putting on two events, we’ve combined our annual Scholarship Banquet with our Athletics Dinner into this single Celebration Gala for our MC family.

“This combined Celebration Gala will allow the University to raise funds in support of our students in the form of transformative scholarships and provide support to our MC Athletics programs.”

Recent Scholarship Banquet speakers have included Drew Brees, Erin and Ben Napier, Amy Grant, and Reba McEntire, among others. Proceeds from the annual scholarship banquet and athletics dinner event series have topped $5 million since their inception.
