NAMB director to present Evangelism Lecture at Mississippi College

Shane Pruitt, national next gen director for the North American Mission Board, is scheduled to give the annual Evangelism Lecture at Mississippi College at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, in Provine Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.

Pruitt will also deliver the message at Chapel, a dedicated time for MC students to receive encouragement through worship, scripture reading and prayer, at 11 a.m. and again at 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 12.

Evan Lenow, associate professor and chair of Christian Studies and director of church and minister relations at Mississippi College, said many MC students are familiar with Pruitt.

“Shane is a well-known speaker, having spoken at events across Mississippi and the Southeast, including Super Summer,” Lenow said. “His presentation will inspire audience members to take their faith seriously and to share their faith with the next generation.”

In ministry for more than two decades as a denominational leader, church planter, lead pastor and student pastor, Pruitt is also a traveling communicator, evangelist and Bible teacher. Every year, he speaks to more than 100,000 people about the good news of Jesus Christ.

The author of two books, “9 Common Lies Christians Believe” and “Calling Out the Called” and two Bible studies, “Revival Generation” and “Not My Jesus,” he is one of the hosts of “The Gensend Podcast.” Shane and his wife, Kasi, live in Texas with their five children.

Sponsored by the Institute for Christian Leadership and the MC Department of Christian Studies, the Evangelism Lecture series brings outstanding speakers to the Clinton campus to share fresh ideas and interesting topics with MC faculty, staff and students.
