Senior Nursing Students Hold Annual Health Fair
The graduating seniors at the Mississippi College School of Nursing will hold their annual health fair for the public on Tuesday, Oct. 26. The event is part of the nursing school’s ongoing mission to inform, educate and empower the community to adapt healthier lifestyle behaviors.
The fair is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Baptist Convention located at First Baptist Church of Jackson, 431 N. State Street.
The MC nursing students and their partners will provide health screenings, demonstrations and other activities. Included will be: blood pressure screening, blood glucose testing, BMI evaluation, bone density scans, and more.
Information and community resources will also be available to encourage residents to utilize local health care resources within the community.
The Health Fair is in conjunction with the Baptist Health Systems and the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board. Sponsors of the Health Fair is composed of representatives from Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi, St. Dominic Behavioral Health Services Taylor's Chiropractic, Chick-fil-A of Clinton, Wal-Mart Supercenter of Clinton, Walgreens Drug Store of Clinton, Primos Cafe, Clinton Printware & Trophies, Julep Restaurant, The Pizza Shack, Hilton Garden Inn and The King Edward.
Faculty advisor for the Health Fair is Assistant Professor Deborah Bolian, RN, B.S.N., M.S. The senior nursing student coordinators are Tiffany Purdy and Jessie Russell.

reated more than 20 years ago by two Mississippi College faculty members, Mrs. Bolian and Mrs. Susan Richardson, based on the need to increase pastors' and parishioners' awareness of their blood pressure.Sign-up For Our Newsletter
