Shane & Shane Q and A, worship night highlights first Ministry Preview Day at MC
Future Mississippi College students who have plans for Christian ministry are invited to Ministry Preview Day at MC, a daylong information session scheduled from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, in Clinton.
Attendees will tour the Mississippi College campus, hear from MC faculty in all of the Christian university’s ministry areas, learn from popular contemporary Christian music duo Shane & Shane, and fellowship on the Brick Streets of Clinton. The event will culminate with a Shane & Shane Worship Night at Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton.
Evan Lenow, associate professor and chair of Christian Studies and director of church and minister relations at Mississippi College, said the event will include a chapel service led by Shane & Shane, followed by a special Q&A session with the duo.
“Ministry Preview Day” is a great opportunity for prospective students who want to pursue ministry as a vocation to explore what MC has to offer,” Lenow said. “They’ll get to meet current students and fellow future Choctaws, and as an added bonus, they will get to sit in the room with Shane & Shane, some of the biggest names in modern worship music, and hear from them what it takes to prepare for a lifetime of ministry.”
Michael Wright, MC dean of enrollment management, said Ministry Preview Day came about as a result of the University’s close partnership with Morrison Heights.
“We’re excited to host one of the premier worship bands in the country to lead the MC community in Chapel and then train our ministry students and prospective ministry students that afternoon,” Wright said. “I hope Ministry Preview Day attendees grow closer in their walk with the Lord while on campus that day.
“I hope they’re encouraged and assured that wherever the Lord may be calling them to ministry, MC has the appropriate tools to get them there.”
