Instructor - Department of Biology

The Department of Biology at Mississippi College is seeking eligible applicants for the full-time faculty position of Instructor starting in August 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and effective laboratory instruction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee freshman biology laboratories
  • Create and administer common midterm and final laboratory examinations for all freshman biology lab sections
  • Teach Anatomy and Physiology I and II, including oversight of the accompanying laboratory sections
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all assigned laboratory sections
  • Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and assessment activities

Required Qualifications

Academic Credentials

  • Master of Science (MS) in Biology
  • Ability to effectively teach undergraduate biology and laboratory courses

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching freshman biology laboratories
  • Experience teaching Anatomy and Physiology I and II
  • Experience coordinating laboratory programs or supervising instructional staff
