Instructor - Department of Biology
The Department of Biology at Mississippi College is seeking eligible applicants for the full-time faculty position of Instructor starting in August 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and effective laboratory instruction.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee freshman biology laboratories
- Create and administer common midterm and final laboratory examinations for all freshman biology lab sections
- Teach Anatomy and Physiology I and II, including oversight of the accompanying laboratory sections
- Ensure consistency and quality across all assigned laboratory sections
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and assessment activities
Required Qualifications
Academic Credentials
- Master of Science (MS) in Biology
- Ability to effectively teach undergraduate biology and laboratory courses
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching freshman biology laboratories
- Experience teaching Anatomy and Physiology I and II
- Experience coordinating laboratory programs or supervising instructional staff
