Providing a caring Christian environment which facilitates the acquisition of knowledge in the behavioral sciences, teaching and learning, and health and human sciences

Nationally accredited since the middle of the last century, the School of Education has long been recognized for the quality of the graduates and the contributions they have made in Mississippi, the South, and throughout the United States.

The Mission of the School of Education is to provide a caring Christian environment which facilitates the acquisition of knowledge in the behavioral sciences, teaching and learning, and health and human sciences.

The School of Education is home to the following departments:

Accreditation 

In 1954 the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education came into existence to bring high standards to teacher training in America. Mississippi College was accredited by NCATE in 1960, becoming one of the first colleges in the South to be so acknowledged. Mississippi College received continuing accreditation by NCATE most recently  in 2000, 2005, and 2013. The Department of Teacher Education and Leadership  is accredited through NCATE/CAEP through the year 2020.
