A week-long Mississippi College Career Services event will put employers in touch with job-seeking students.

The deadline is February 26 for employers to sign up for activities in March at Anderson Hall on the Clinton campus.

There’s still time left for latecomers, even beyond the deadline. “We will take registrations past that date,” says Career Services Director Taylor Ormon.

The events are happening March 8-12.

Representatives from school districts, government agencies, businesses, and nonprofits are among those attending.

The in-person and virtual career fair will open doors for employers to connect with talented MC students from all academic fields.

The Career Services Office staff has partnered with the School of Education and Graduate School leaders at the university to provide two additional days of meetings.

Fees for employers for regular/virtual registration will be $150. The cost is $50 for nonprofits and school districts.

“We have wonderful students who are eager to launch careers,” Ormon tells employers. “You do not want to miss out on this opportunity.”

Given the COVID-19 pandemic, employers have the option of in-person attendance or can reach out to students virtually.

Employers signed up include CSPIRE, Merit Health, the FBI, the Mississippi Department of Revenue, and MEA Medical Clinics. School districts joining the career fair include public schools in Clinton, Pearl, Starkville, Madison County, and Rankin County.

Ormon is getting the word out on social media, including Facebook and LinkedIn. During the year, Career Services staffers help students create effective resumes and cover letters as well as improve their interviewing skills.
