Fall One-Act Festival, November 15-16

Mississippi College's One-Act Fall Festival opens next week to audiences in Aven Little Theater on the Clinton campus.

Performed and directed by MC students studying theatre, the productions will be Murray Schisgal's "Fragments" and Web Drake's "Perspectives of the Cross" on Nov.15-16. Admission is $4 at the door. The performances Thursday and Friday evenings will begin at 7 p.m.

Each year, MC students in the Play Directing I class of the Communication Department must direct a one-act play as part of their grade.

The student director of "Fragments" is Sarah Hankins of Clinton. Her cast includes Russ Bellande, Amber Cockrell, Jim Schnadelbach and Josh Powell. "Perspectives of the Cross" is directed by Jonathon Watts of Biloxi. It was penned by Drake, an assistant professor of communication at MC. Cast members include: Bernard Dafney, Matt Stevens, Trisha Pate, Alyssa Stewart and Wes Kinsey.

Many of the student actors are with the Mississippi College Tribal Players. Several of the actors in the two productions are members of Alpha Psi Omega, the national theatre honor society.
