Family Weekend Returns to Mississippi College in September 2019

Three cheers for MC's 2019 Family Weekend! Go Choctaws!

Tickets are now on sale for Mississippi College’s 2019 Family Weekend.

The marathon of events September 20-21 give families a chance to enjoy a movie on the Quad, go to classes, tailgate with delicious food and attend MC Choctaws sporting events.

Tickets for adults are $35 through July 31. And the cost is $25 for children, ages 6-18.

After being away a few years, Family Weekend returned to the MC in 2018. The event on the Clinton campus proved to be a hit for supporters of the Blue & Gold.

This summer, MC staffer Jonathan Nutt is busy promoting Family Weekend. He invites families from across the USA to join the fun and spend quality time with their favorite students.

“We’ve made some tweaks to make this Family Weekend even better!,” Nutt says. “Last year we had families travel from across the United States, and we expect many states represented again this year.”

Football fans can catch the Choctaws in action against North Greenville on September 21. The kickoff is set for 7 p.m. that Saturday at Robinson-Hale Stadium. Last year’s MC football game on the road in South Carolina was cancelled due to bad weather.

There are also MC volleyball games and soccer games booked for Family Weekend. Ice cream sundaes, a cornhole tournament, worship time, Parent Academy and so much more appear on the schedule

“Our goal is for you to feel at home at Mississippi College,” Nutt tells parents.

MC’s director of student development, Nutt encourages families to explore the college website for additional details. People should go to mc.edu/familyweekend to learn about ticket information and the packed schedule at the 5,200-student university.

Family Weekend remains one of the Fall’s notable highlights as MC begins its 194th academic year in late August.
