Medical Training Programs Offered Through Continuing Education

The Office of Continuing Education at Mississippi College will sponsor two Medical Training Programs in March 2013 at the new Flowood Center.

“These are programs we feel are in great demand and should be beneficial to the Jackson Metro area. We will partner with Consolidated Curriculum to sponsor courses that include Pharmacy Technician and Clinical Medical Assistant. We also hope to roll out other future programs in an effort to meet the growing national need for certified health care professionals,” says Ken L. Gilliam, director of Continuing Education at Mississippi College.

These programs are more than “reading out of a book.” The medical training programs will include both lecture and hands on labs to simulate a “real world” professional experience. Students who complete the courses could be qualified to sit for National Certification Exams.

“We hope to help create entry-level job opportunities for individuals by providing low cost, short-term training programs in health care related fields. It is also our goal to service the growing allied health education and training needs of health care organizations, hospitals, long term care facilities, and other corporations and organizations,” says Gilliam.
