Office of the Provost

The Office of the Provost oversees the institution’s mission of academic excellence and commitment to the cause of Christ.

Welcome to the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President at Mississippi College (MC). As the University’s chief academic officer, my fundamental mission is to champion innovation and excellence in teaching, research, creative production, and service. It is my privilege to work alongside President Blake Thompson, our administrative leaders, faculty, and staff to fulfill MC’s vision and mission by providing transformative learning opportunities for our 4,700+ undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.

Founded in 1826, MC is the oldest institution of higher learning and the largest private university in the state of Mississippi. As a Christian university affiliated with the Mississippi Baptist Convention, MC values the integration of faith and learning throughout the educational process. The intellectual development of our students is grounded in the liberal arts and sciences, and we offer concentrated study across the following seven schools: Business, Christian Studies & the Arts, Education, Humanities & Social Sciences, Law, Math & Science, and Nursing.

MC promotes the spiritual, social, emotional, and physical development of its students. Our faculty and staff lead by example as they encourage students to utilize their skills, talents, and abilities as they pursue meaningful careers, life-long learning, and service to God and others. The university emphasizes those undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs which offer opportunities for public service. Additionally, MC reflects its responsibility of service to the community through a variety of service learning opportunities and cultural enrichment experiences.

I am proud to be part of the Choctaw family, a vibrant community of scholars and servant leaders. I encourage you to explore our website and schedule a campus visit to learn more about MC. Here you RISE!
