The Department of Kinesiology focuses on providing students with high-quality learning, both in the classroom and the lab. We also provide health and fitness courses as part of the University Core Curriculum, promoting healthy lifestyles in the MC community.
What You’ll Do
Enjoy great games at MC’s outstanding athletic facilities. Like A. E. Wood Coliseum, a gold-anodized aluminum dome known around the community for its distinctive appearance. The 48,000-square-foot “Golden Dome” seats 3,500 for basketball games and also includes a fully equipped training room for athletes. Frierson Field hosts great baseball games, with a grandstand that seats up to 1,200 and one of the largest scoreboards in the American Southwest Conference. Robinson-Hale Stadium is one of the largest stadiums in NCAA Division III, seating as many 8,500 people — a roomy spot for Choctaw home football games, which are consistently well-attended. The Williams Strength Center offers more than 5,000 square feet of strength training facilities, with top-notch equipment such as Hammer Strength Equipment, power clean platforms, rubberized dumbbells, squat racks and more, for use by Mississippi College student-athletes.
