Experience college life while building academic, career, and independent living skills in a supportive Christian community.

True Blue Pathways program logoThe True Blue Pathways Program is a two-year, inclusive college experience at Mississippi College designed for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities who want to continue learning, growing, and preparing for what comes next.

Here, you take part in college life. You enroll in undergraduate courses, connect with other students, and build practical skills for life and work. Along the way, you’re supported by academic coaching, life skills instruction, and peer mentors.

You’ll grow in confidence, build independence, and develop skills for daily life and future employment—with the support you need to succeed.

Join a Christ-centered community where you are known, valued, and encouraged.

Students at Mississippi College are part of a community grounded in faith, service and meaningful relationships. The True Blue Pathways Program reflects this commitment by providing an environment where you’ll be known, valued and encouraged.

You can engage in service opportunities and take part in campus life in ways that are meaningful to you. You’ll build friendships, participate in campus traditions and grow both personally and spiritually. This is a place where you belong.

The Pathways Experience

As a True Blue Pathways student, you actively participate in the campus community. You will:

  • attend undergraduate classes

  • attend chapel

  • participate in campus events and activities

  • join student organizations and campus groups

  • attend athletic and social events

  • dine on campus and take part in daily student life

  • use campus resources like the library, writing center and student support services

These experiences help you build confidence, develop relationships, and grow in independence at your own pace.

Academic and Life Skills Development

You’ll build a strong foundation through a combination of undergraduate coursework and structured life skills classes designed to support your goals.

Your life skills courses focus on:

  • independent living skills like budgeting, cooking and home management
  • career readiness, including job skills and workplace expectations
  • social development and community participation
  • health, wellness and self-advocacy

Each course is practical, hands-on, and designed to help you apply what you learn in everyday life.

On-Campus Employment Opportunities

A key component of the True Blue Pathways Program is the opportunity to gain real work experience in a supportive campus environment. Through on-campus employment, you build responsibility, confidence, and workplace skills. You’ll learn expectations for the workplace, develop professional habits, and contribute to the campus community in meaningful ways.

Student Support

As a member of the True Blue Pathways program, you’ll be supported every step of the way through a structured and encouraging network that promotes both independence and success.

Your support system includes:

  • academic coaches who guide your progress
  • peer mentors and tutors who support you academically and socially
  • structured life skills instruction
  • dedicated program staff who provide consistent guidance and communication

This balance of support and independence helps you continue growing while building confidence.
