Mississippi College Teacher Education program completers at the undergraduate levels far surpass the MDE requirement of an 80% pass rate of the appropriate Praxis II scores.

Teacher Education & Leadership: Elementary Education
From 2004-2016, 95-100% of candidates from MC have been awarded state licensure based on Praxis II exams, exceeding the state and national accreditation requirement of 80%. Teacher candidates at MC are not required to pass the Praxis II to complete the degree program, but the exam is required for state licensure. Below are our most recent pass rates for our programs.

Mississippi College Secondary Education
From 2004-2016, of candidates have been awarded state licensure based on Praxis II exams.
Goal: Of graduating secondary education students, 90% of each class will pass the Praxis II exam. Since 2004 the goal has not only been met, but exceeded with at least 92% (and up to 100%) of program completers passing the Praxis II in their area.

The Mississippi Department of Education Standard requirement: 80% (3-year average).
The SLLA exam is required for students in our Educational Leadership graduate programs seeking an endorsement in Administration and School Leadership. The pass rate for Mississippi is 169.
