Clinton Christian Academy Leaders Sign Agreement with Mississippi College

MC President Lee Royce signed a tuition exchange agreement in late April with Clinton Christian Academy. Dr. Royce and CCA headmaster Phillip Broome see it as a win-win situation for both institutions.

Clinton Christian Academy is home to challenging academic programs, and Warriors sports teams are pretty competitive, too. CCA educators teach from a Christian perspective.

Leaders at the private school in Clinton signed a tuition exchange agreement with Mississippi College in late April to strengthen bonds between the two institutions.

President Lee Royce and CCA headmaster Phillip Broome believe the agreement is a win-win situation for both campuses in Hinds County.

Papers were signed at President Royce’s office in Nelson Hall.

“This agreement will undoubtedly aid in our already healthy partnership with Clinton Christian Academy,” said Michael Wright, assistant director of admissions at MC.

“This will be a great resource to attract students who otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend Mississippi College,” Wright said. “We couldn’t be happier.”

Wright’s recruiting territory includes CCA. And officials predict at least two new CCA graduates are expected to enroll at Mississippi College as freshmen in late August.

Besides its strong academic programs, CCA boosts solid sports teams. The private school offers varsity and junior varsity sports. The list includes football, basketball, baseball, softball, track and archery. Warriors and Lady Warriors student-athletes play with a competitive spirit founded on a love for God.

Mississippi College President Royce has signed similar agreements with other private schools in metro Jackson, including Madison-Ridgeland Academy, and Mt. Salus Christian School in Clinton.

Under the agreement, CCA students become eligible to receive a 40 percent tuition reduction at MC as long as they meet admission requirements of the Baptist-affiliated university.

In addition, MC faculty and staff members will receive a tuition reduction if their children attend Clinton Christian Academy. The school is located at 101 West Northside Drive.

On social media, CCA family members applauded the new agreement. “Go Warriors and Choctaws!,” is what one former CCA employee posted on Facebook. Clinton Christian Academy and Mississippi College will make a great team, others say.
