Mississippi College E-Bike Policy
- Indoor Storage and Charging
- E-bikes and e-bike chargers are strictly prohibited inside all residence halls, academic buildings, classrooms, corridors, stairwells, or any other interior campus spaces.
- Storage or charging of e-bikes in these areas constitutes a fire and safety hazard and is not permitted.
- Stairwells and Exits
- No combustible materials, including e-bikes, may be stored or left in any building exit, stairway, stairwell, or ramp enclosure. Stairwells and exits must remain clear as a means of emergency egress at all times.
- Parking and Operation
- E-bikes may not be operated, parked, or left unattended inside buildings, on ramps, or in or near any building doorways.
- E-bikes may only be parked outdoors at university-provided bicycle racks.
- Charging on Campus
- Charging e-bike batteries is not permitted anywhere on campus, either indoors or outdoors, except in university-designated locations that may be established in the future.
- Enforcement
- Campus Safety may impound any e-bike found in violation of this policy. Owners are responsible for any costs associated with retrieval and may be subject to university disciplinary action.
- Repeated violations may result in loss of e-bike privileges on campus.
- Accessibility
- Requests for exceptions due to medical necessity or accessibility must be submitted to the Office of Accessibility Services for review and approval.
