Dive into French Language and Culture
No Language Experience required
You have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the French culture and language at the Institut de Touraine, in Tours, France. Whether for a full fall or spring semester or an 5-week summer program, you will join a diverse cohort of students from around the globe.
Located among charming chateaus, cafes, boutique shopping, lively music venues, and museums, the Institut offers a unique blend of both suburban tranquility and metropolitan excitement, just an hour's train ride west of Paris.
You’ll live with carefully selected host families, ensuring an authentic and supportive semester abroad. The Institut’s meticulous matching process and ongoing visits by staff guarantee a comfortable and welcoming homestay environment, with breakfast and dinner included.
Academics
During the fall and spring semesters, you can earn up to 15 hours of French credit. For French majors, you potentially have the opportunity to earn up to 18 hours of French credit.
In the summer, you will spend a few days in Paris with MC faculty before traveling to the language institute. You will have the chance to earn up to 6 hours of French credit and 1 PE credit.
You will directly enroll at Mississippi College and earn credit for you coursework completed while abroad. The Department of Modern Languages will provide expert guidance on registration procedures, ensuring a seamless and rewarding international academic experience.





Estimated Program Cost and hours
Room, board, and tuition are part of the program cost, and not all scholarships apply. Students travel to Paris independently, but transportation to Tours is arranged by MC. Students are responsible for airfare and personal travel.

Room, board, and tuition for 6 hours of French and 1 hour of PE credit are included in program costs. Typically, the program includes a few nights in Paris upon arrival with guided tours by MC faculty.
Also included throughout the summer are special day trips with students from around the world.
Scholarships do not apply to summer programs. Students are responsible for airfare and personal travel.
The program runs from the end of May to the end of June.
College students in good standing from other universities are invited to travel with MC to earn credit and are expected to uphold the same code of conduct as MC students.
