Exotic Guam...
History and Beauty
Dr. Billy Moorehead will once again share his love of this US Territory with students during Spring Break 2026. Located in the Western Pacific Ocean, Guam is home to approximately 175,000 people, including an estimated 15,000 active U.S. Military personnel and their families. Guam (and the Marianas Islands) played a significant role in World War II and remains a strategic part of the U.S. national defense.
Guamanians speak English, but their indigenous language, CHamoru, is considered endangered, while the culture is experiencing a resurgence. Travelers will be in the heart of Guam, staying in Tumon. Classes faculty have previously offered in Guam have focused on territorial government, national defense, international trade, international public relations and crisis management, the renaissance of the CHamoru language and culture, and the island economy and sustainability. The 2026 classes are listed below.
