Empowering Future Leaders Through Education and Innovation

The Janser Legacy at Mississippi College

Beth and Kevin Janser’s commitment to Mississippi College (MC) reflects their deep belief in the power of education to shape future leaders and the importance of providing students with opportunities to thrive both academically and professionally. Through their generous support and help of MC faculty members they  have created a vision for student success.

Beth and Kevin’s connection to Mississippi College runs deep, with both having pursued degrees that set the foundation for their successful careers. Kevin holds two degrees in Communications, while Beth’s academic journey at Mississippi College included studies in both Business Administration and Communications. Together, they have supported the College in ways that extend beyond traditional giving, particularly through their recent funding of the Baker-Janser Student Media Center, a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide students with more space and resources to develop their skills.

It was such a blessing to be back at MC for the Student Media Center dedication and Homecoming festivities. The campus looked terrific, and seeing all the positive changes in each area was exciting. My husband, Kevin, and I felt led to provide funding for the Media Center to allow Communication students to have additional space to work, study, and meet with potential clients as part of Big River Strategies and Blue & Gold Media. Students can now make connections with clients and further develop their communication skills in that space.

The Baker-Janser Student Media Center provides MC Communication students with a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on learning, with space for student-run media organizations, meetings, and client interactions. The center is a tangible example of Janser’s dedication to empowering students with the tools they need to succeed professionally and academically.

“Seeing the students at the Media Center and knowing that our support will help them in their academic, professional, and spiritual lives is especially rewarding to us,” Beth added. “The Baker-Janser Student Media Center gives us the opportunity to support MC Communication students as they further their education as well as allowing us to honor our families who provided unwavering support as we completed our undergraduate and graduate studies.”

In addition to their support of the Communication department, the Janser family has also recently funded a scholarship in the School of Business for out-of-state students. This scholarship aims to reduce financial barriers for students from outside Mississippi, allowing them to pursue an education from MC.

“It is our hope that these students will go on to make meaningful contributions in their fields, just as we have been fortunate to do in ours.”

Their investment in both the Media Center and the Business School scholarship reflects a broader vision: to ensure that Mississippi College students have every opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background or where they come from
