Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholar Reception

Mississippi College recently honored Lettie Pate Whitehead recipients.

Mississippi College hosted a reception to honor students who were recently honored as Lettie Pate Whitehead recipients.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation. Scholarships are awarded to female students who reside in the Southeast and demonstrate financial need, academic achievement, and overall character.

Mrs. Whitehead was a generous philanthropist and accomplished businesswoman. Her legacy has provided scholarship grants for thousands of women in need.

Katrina Pace, Executive Director of the MC Foundation, added, “The Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation has supported Mississippi College for five decades, which is remarkable. The impact they have had on students passing through the halls at MC is far-reaching, and we are grateful for the incredible scholarship support our MC students receive.”

Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholars remind us of the life-changing power of an MC education.

“This Scholarship has helped us achieve our goals of becoming nurses. Our father is a missionary and our mother has been unemployed since her early thirties due to numerous cancer battles. This scholarship has taken the burden off of us and our parents. We are so grateful.”

“My goals are to love people well by serving others well. The Whitehead Scholarship allows me to attend this University that encourages love and service. MC provides its students many opportunities to serve people and be involved in the lives of others. I would not be able to do that without this scholarship. “
