Tony Huffman, ’84: Building a Lasting Legacy at MC
For Tony Huffman, ’84, giving to MC is more than a gift—it’s a commitment to shaping future leaders and investing in a legacy that continues to transform lives.
Tony Huffman’s connection to Mississippi College spans decades and reflects a deep commitment to the University that helped shape his life and career.
A 1984 graduate, Tony earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from MC. During his time on campus, he distinguished himself both academically and athletically. At graduation, he received the prestigious Wall Street Journal Award, presented to the top graduating senior in the School of Business.
Today, Tony serves as owner and President/CEO of Huffman and Company, CPA, PA, where he provides leadership and financial expertise to clients. His professional accomplishments in the field of accounting reflect the discipline, integrity and leadership developed during his years at MC.
Tony’s commitment to his alma mater extends far beyond his time as a student. In addition to his philanthropic support, he has also given his time and leadership to the University, serving on MC’s Board of Trustees and helping guide the institution’s mission and future. Huffman adds “without MC I would not be the person I am today. My time at MC not only instilled in me the discipline and commitment necessary to be successful, it brought me a lifetime of close friends and a love for a place that cares deeply about its people. What little I can give back to MC is but a small return on what it has given to me.”
His generosity has supported multiple areas of the University. In the past, Tony invested in the School of Business, helping strengthen programs that prepare students for careers in business and leadership. Most recently, Tony made a significant gift to Mississippi College’s track and cross country programs to support the renovation of the track complex—an investment that will benefit generations of student-athletes and reflects his deep belief in the program’s future.
Tony’s athletic legacy at MC remains significant. As a standout runner in both track and cross country, he helped lay the foundation for excellence in those programs. In recognition of his accomplishments, he was inducted into the MC Sports Hall of Fame in 2015 for both track and cross country.
His passion for running continues to define him today. Competing at the national level, Tony recently captured two National Championships in the 5K and 10K at the USA Track & Field Masters Outdoor Championships. In a remarkable return to the 10K distance after 30 years, he delivered a dominant performance—winning by a margin of six minutes and executing negative splits over the final three miles. He also placed seventh in the 1500 meters, further demonstrating his range and competitiveness against elite, world-class competition.
Through his leadership, service, generosity, and continued excellence in competition, Tony exemplifies the spirit of Mississippi College. His support helps ensure that future students and student-athletes have the same opportunities to learn, compete, and grow that shaped his own journey.
