Apostille Requests

If your diploma is needed for international use and requires apostille certification, please visit our Apostille webpage for detailed instructions.

What is an Apostille?

An apostille is the legalization of a document for international use.  MC graduates who plan to work or further their education abroad may need to authenticate their degrees with an apostille.

It is the responsibility of the student to verify the specific documents and authentication required by the receiving country.

Ordering a Diploma for Apostille

If your reprinted diploma is to be used to obtain an apostille from the Mississippi Secretary of State, follow the instructions below:

  1. Complete the order form for your MC diploma.
  2. Email graduation@mc.edu once your order is complete to let us know that your order will be used for an apostille.
  3.  Complete the following items and return ALL items to the Mississippi College Registrar's Office at the address below::
    1. Complete this Apostille Certification Request form (Form 11) required by the Secretary of State
    2. Check or Money Order payable to the Secretary of State according to their fees listed here.
    3. Please note that when you access the Apostille Certification Request form (Form 11) from the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office, the form directs you to return the completed application with the $5 fee for each copy to the Secretary of State. Please do not send the completed form and the $5 payment directly to the Secretary of State’s Office. Form 11 is an official form utilized by the Secretary of State’s Office, and MC cannot revise their form to let you know to send those items directly to MC. The Secretary of State’s Office must receive the notarized diploma from MC in the same package as the completed Apostille Certification Request form and the $5 payment in order to be processed.
  4. Once MC receives your printed diploma from Parchment, we will have it notarized by a Notary Public at MC. We will then package it, along with your Secretary of State Apostille Certification Request Form and form of payment made payable to the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office, and MC will mail all items to the Secretary of State’s Office for completion of the Apostille process.
  5. To make other arrangements for your apostille, please email graduation@mc.edu
  6. More information about this process can be found on the Mississippi Secretary of State website.
