In the same way, the IEP looks forward to welcoming students and helping them feel at home in the MC academic community.
You can visit our MC International website for more information.
Mission Statement:
MC’s IEP is committed to preparing international students for academic coursework in undergraduate or graduate degree programs. We offer immersive English instruction designed to prepare students with the necessary skills to thrive in their academic studies and campus community. The IEP endeavors to accomplish these goals in a supporting, respectful, and understanding environment.
What Students Can Expect:
Classes
IEP classes provide instruction for students with intermediate to advanced English fluency levels. By encouraging an interactive and immersive classroom, instruction combines intermediate and advanced skills that work toward a unified goal of academic, degree-seeking readiness.
IEP students attend twenty (20) hours of classes per week, meeting Monday through Thursday. Classes include reading and vocabulary, writing and grammar, listening and speaking. Small group and individualized support is given through the assistance of the MC Writing Center and the IEP Conversation Partner Program. All courses are supported on Canvas, the University’s educational portal.
activities
The International Institute sponsors yearly events where students are encouraged to speak about their home country and to share food, crafts, or information allowing students to introduce the community to their home culture. Each semester the International Institute sponsors an IEP field trip. These off-campus activities allow students to practice immersive English by engaging with the local culture.
