The scheduled effective date of September 15, 2026 for the Department of Homeland Security changes to the duration of status rule has been blocked by a court order. At present, the current duration of status rule remains in effect. The ultimate outcome of this proposed rule change will be determined by the current court case. We will provide additional information on pending changes as they are available.
