Incoming education major transfer students can earn a full scholarship to MC.
MC is awarding eight scholarships funded by a new grant focused on creating excellence in the field of education in Mississippi. The eight winners of this competition will be chosen according to their responses to the criteria below and will each be awarded a $25,000 grant in addition to their other merit scholarships, making this an opportunity for a full-ride scholarship package you do not want to miss!

In order to compete in the Excellence in Education Scholarship competition, you need to meet these qualifications:
- Be a transfer student with junior-level credit hours upon arrival at MC
- Be pursuing an education major with a licensure: Art Education, English Education, Math Education, Music Education, Physical Education, Social Studies Education, or Elementary Education
- Have a transfer GPA of 3.0 or above upon arrival at MC
- Submit the FAFSA to MC and have an SAI of less than 20,000
- Commit to participation in a 4-semester MC cohort for Excellence in Education grant recipients
- Commit to teaching in Mississippi for at least 2 years after graduation

Use your MC Application Portal to submit a single page resume outlining your academic and extracurricular involvements/achievements.
Please respond to the prompt below in a one page essay using 700 words or less. Your essay can be single or double spaced; use size 12 font. Please include your name on the essay (this does not count in your word count). You will upload your essay into your MC Student Portal.

Important Dates
To compete for these scholarships, all items must be submitted by 4:30pm on April 3.
The interviews for the competition will take place on campus on April 17. Winners of the competition will be notified through email approximately four weeks after the interviews conclude.
