Change Major or Minor

Information and forms for changing your major and/or minor.

Undergraduate Students

  • Currently Enrolled Students: To request a change to your major, please submit a Major Change form. Once submitted, your request will be routed to the appropriate department for approval. When your major is officially updated, you will receive a confirmation email and can view your new advisor and major on DegreeWorks.

*Students currently in a traditional program who would like to change to the Accelerated Degree Program (ADP) must complete this form in consultation with an advisor.

  • Double Majors: Students may wish to earn two majors within the same degree. All requirements for the degree and both majors must be completed.  Students who double major are not required to complete a minor, but can elect to do so.  Please complete this form in full and obtain all required signatures before submitting it to the Office of the Registrar.
  • Double Degrees: Ordinarily, students may not be awarded two degrees simultaneously; however, depending on the student's academic standing, the Provost may grant approval to pursue two degrees concurrently.  Coursework for both degrees must be completed, and the second degree must have at least 33 unique hours in residence.  Students who double degree are not required to complete a minor but can elect to do so. For more information, please contact the Office of the Registrar.
  • Minors: A student can declare a minor by submitting the Minor Change form.
