Undergraduate Admissions

Admissions Process

We'll walk you through the application process step by step.

How the Mississippi College application process works:

We will review a student’s application, transcript with unweighted, recalculated GPA, and their official score(s) on any of the college entrance exams (ACT, SAT, CLT) in the admissions decision process. For the 2026 application cycle, an official test score is required to be considered for admissionThe science section of the ACT is not required for general admission or scholarship offers, except for Nursing majors. The average recalculated GPA range for admitted students from the 2025 academic year is 3.5 - 3.7 and the middle 50% scores are 24-26 on the ACT, 1160 - 1330 on the SAT, and 89-100 on the CLT.

Students seeking readmissionnon-degree seeking students, students seeking a second bachelor’s degree must complete a new undergraduate application. See our undergraduate admission FAQs for more information.

  1. Complete your Application

Complete our Undergraduate application on the MC website or through the Common App. Submit your application and the application fee. The application opens July 1st.

NOTE: You do not have to submit test scores and transcripts at the time of applying.

  2. Send us your transcript

High School | Dual Enrollment | Transfer | Homeschool

    High School Transcript

Students who apply to enter MC as an incoming freshman should send their in-progress transcript of all high school work completed to date to the Office of Admissions. A student-submitted copy of the transcript can be accepted for admission and scholarship purposes. Email the transcript as a PDF attachment to Admissions@mc.edu or your admissions counselor. Transcripts also may be sent electronically from the high school via the transcript services Parchment, SCOIR, or eScrip or mailed directly to the Office of Admissions at Box 4026, Clinton, MS 39058 for admission and scholarship purposes.

Student copies can typically be obtained by either accessing your online Student Portal at the institution, or by contacting your institution’s Registrar. Acceptable student copies of a transcript must:

    • Be in PDF format attached to an email or a printed hardcopy (iPhone photos are not acceptable)
    • Includes your full name and the school’s name.
    • Include all classes that you have completed with final grades as well as current classes that are in progress.
    • Include ALL pages (i.e. you cannot only submit page 1 of 2)

    Dual Enrollment Transcript

Students who are taking dual enrollment courses and receiving credit from another college or university must submit a transcript from that college/university showing their college work as well. When you are finished with credit and are no longer taking classes at that college, have the college or university send a final, official transcript showing all credits completed. Final transcripts must come directly from the college or university via electronic service or mail. Your high school transcript will not suffice as a dual enrollment transcript.

    College Transcripts for Transfer Students

If you are currently or have previously taken college classes, you must submit an official transcript from each college or university you have attended. A high school transcript is not required for transfer students.

    • If you are currently enrolled in classes at a college, we can accept a student-copy in order to determine your admission status. This official student-copy of your transcript can be downloaded from your student portal at the institution and sent as a PDF attachment to admissions@mc.edu. iPhone photos are not acceptable.
    • If you are no longer taking classes at an institution, have that college or university send the final, official transcript showing all completed credits. Final, official transcripts must come directly from the college or university to MC via electronic service or mail.

    Homeschool Transcripts

For homeschooled students, a parent or homeschool administrator can submit a PDF or hard copy of the homeschooled transcript that has the same criteria as a high school transcript, which are listed in that section above.

  3. Submit Your Test Scores

    Freshmen

MC requires an official score on a college entrance exam. We accept superscores on the ACT, SAT, and CLT. Test scores for all applicants who graduated from high school within the last five years must be sent to MC directly from ACT, SAT and CLT headquarters or from the student’s high school (such as printed on an official transcript). We cannot accept score reports directly from students or parents. The science section of the ACT is not required for general admission or scholarship offers, except for Nursing majors. The writing section of the ACT is not required for general admission or scholarships.

    Transfers

If you have less than 12 transferable hours of college credit, you’ll need to submit your official test score. Unless you’ve been out of high school for more than 5 years, then no test score is required. If you plan to major in Nursing, an official ACT score is required before enrollment.

After you have completed these three items, your application will be eligible for review once admission decisions begin in September. Mississippi College has rolling admissions.

Additional steps in the MC journey:

Once you’re admitted to MC, there are additional steps you will take on your path to enrolling and officially joining the MC family!

Pay Your Housing Fee

For students seeking on-campus housing, a one-time $215 housing fee is required in order to reserve a spot in the residence halls for the student’s desired entry term. This fee is nonrefundable, so we advise students to pay this fee when they have identified MC as one of the top schools they wish to attend. However, max housing capacity does typically occur and the earlier this fee is paid, the sooner a student is able to secure a room when Room Selection opens. See the Office of Residence Life for more information.

Send us your immunization certificate

Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) Immunization Certificate is required. One MMR immunization in the past ten years or two in a lifetime are required. This document can be faxed, emailed as a PDF attachment to admissions@mc.edu, or hand delivered to the Office of Admission.

Note: If your degree is 100% online, you do not need to submit an immunization record.

Submit Final, Official Transcripts

After graduation, applicants must have an official, final transcript sent directly to MC by the high school including the date of graduation, a signature by a school official, and an official seal. The transcript can be sent electronically through Parchment or other service, hand-delivered to the Admissions Office in a sealed envelope, or emailed as a PDF attachment to Admissions@mc.edu directly from a guidance counselor or school administrator.

Reserve My Place

For admitted students, the Reserve My Place form will appear on their Student Enrollment Checklist inside their Application Portal the month before they register for classes. Students who plan to enroll in classes at MC must indicate their decision to attend MC on the Reserve My Place form.
