About Me

I was born and raised in Illinois. I am a graduate from Mississippi College School of Nursing's fifth class and became a nurse in emergency pediatrics upon graduation. I spent the next 25 years in emergency pediatrics, ambulatory pediatrics, pediatric endocrinology, and adult intensive care step-down. During that time I took time out to become a nurse practitioner with an emphasis in family health. Upon retirement from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, I spent 18 months in a rural health clinic focusing on family health, including geriatrics, acute adult care, pregnancy, pediatrics and newborn care.

Upon returning to Mississippi College in 2005, I taught fourth semester with an emphasis on pregnancy and newborn care as well as selected high acuity adult and pediatrics conditions. I currently teach in first semester with a focus on pediatrics and newborn care. I am the Semester I Coordinator, the coordinator of NUR 344 Clinical Practice I, and the co-coordinator of NUR 353 Health Assessment.

Additionally, I am attending William Carey University working on a Ph.D. in Nursing Education and Nursing Administration.

I have been married to Howard for over 25 years and we live in South Jackson.
